OK, the dates are in: 28th April to 4th May. We’ll walk west to east, as the wind will be at our backs.
I’ve set up a charity giving page here. We’re raising money for Combat Stress and Medecins Sans Frontieres. I hope that some of you can see your way to sponsoring us, even if it’s only for a few pounds/dollars/Euros. Every little helps – as the old woman said as she did a wee in the sea!
Thank you all.

@Kimmii: Thanks for your message of support – it’s nice to know that you like hearing what news I have. I hope to post regularly once I start getting out and about with my gear – walking rural Somerset in Roman battle dress!

Hi Ben. My wife and i did the Hadrian wall walk in early June 2011, we walked it East to West, personally don’t think it makes much difference, we did it in 6 days. It a great walk, you will enjoy it I am sure, mind I was not dress as a Roman solder. Don’t forget to get you Hadrian”s Passport, you get it stamp at the named Roman Forts, and then at the end of the walk ,in your case Segedunum Fort you can get your Certificate of Achievement. On the 3rd day we got caught in very heavy rain and still had 7miles to go to our B&B. We had all the wet weather gear, but was saturated when we arrived. Met a lot of lovely people on the walk from all over, and a group of solders walking for charity ,one was on crutches, they walk West toEast. good luck with the walk, love your books. Will make a donation.
Regards John

@jrb: Thanks for your message of support! Good to hear that you enjoyed the wall. I hope we don’t get saturated too much, although at least once is inevitable, perhaps. Any donation gratefully received! Cheers.
